Nick Adams works at GLAAD, a national non-profit organization dedicated to ensuring that LGBT people are fairly and accurately represented in the media. He has worked at GLAAD since 1998 and transitioned on the job in 1998. At GLAAD, Nick works with journalists and entertainment industry professionals who are writing stories about transgender people. Nick was also a founding board member of FTM Alliance of Los Angeles, and has volunteered with Transforming Family since 2009.
Chaz Bono is an actor, author, LGBT rights advocate, and speaker. Chaz transitioned in the public eye, telling his story in his memoir, Transition, and a documentary Becoming Chaz. He has volunteered with Transforming Family since 2009.
Susan Landon, MFCT
Susan Landon is a licensed Marriage, Family, and Child Therapist with 25 years of professional experience counseling children and their families. As Director of the Child and Adolescent Program at the Los Angeles Gender Center, she provides a safe and supportive environment for children, adolescents, and their families to explore issues of gender identity. She offers in-service trainings on gender variance for parents, teachers, and school administrators. She assists physicians and their staff in developing sensitive environments for their gender diverse patients. In addition to her work with the Los Angeles Gender Center, she has a private practice counseling individuals, couples, and families in Santa Monica, California.
Aydin Olson-Kennedy, MSW, ACSW
Aydin Olson-Kennedy, MSW, ACSW currently works as an associate clinical social worker at the Los Angeles Gender Center where he provides clinical care and therapy for trans youth, adults and their families. He is extremely passionate about supporting parents and family members of gender non-conforming and transgender youth and adults. Using personal anecdotes about his own experience as a transgender man coupled with his knowledge and experience as a mental health professional, Aydin invites others to celebrate transgender and gender non-conforming identities.
Jo Olson-Kennedy, M.D.
Johanna Olson-Kennedy, MD is an Adolescent Medicine physician specializing in the care of youth with gender identity disorder, HIV, and chronic pain. Board certified in Pediatrics and Adolescent Medicine, Dr. Olson is the Medical Director for The Trans Youth Program at Childrens Hospital Los Angeles. She has appeared on ABC’s 20/20 in 2007 and The Dr. Phil Show in 2008 to educate audiences about the needs of transgender youth.
