Mission & Vision

Our mission is to empower children and families to create supportive and inclusive environments in which gender may be freely expressed and respected. Our vision is to create a society in which ALL children and youth are respected and celebrated.​

Transforming Family

We are a family support group for families with transgender, nonbinary, and gender-expansive children. We provide a supportive environment for children, adolescents, young adults, and their families to explore issues of gender identity.

Parents have the opportunity to discuss the challenging issues, raise questions, seek and share resources, and listen to the experiences of others. Our primary goal is to discover, by talking to each other and sharing our experiences, how families and community can best support our trans, nonbinary and gender-expansive youth. We also open this group up to extended family members such as grandparents, aunts, and uncles. Siblings have their own peer support group, as well.​

To ensure the privacy of our families, we do not publish the time, date, or location of our meetings. If you’d like to attend a Transforming Family meeting, please visit the Contact page to learn how to begin the intake process. We will respond as quickly as possible. Once we’ve spoken, we will share the details of the meeting with you.
